Why isn't India taking in Syrian refugees? Perfect answer is here !!

First things First,
Take a look at Syria and its geographical boundaries !!

What happened in Syria ??

A very small incident TRIGGERED CIVIL WAR in Syria

In 2011, fifteen higher school children wrote an anti-government graffiti on a public wall. Press reported that they were arrested and repeatedly tortured. Local people decided to protest peacefully after 15 school children. The protest was peaceful, calling for the release of the children and about democracy and greater freedom for the people in the country.

On 18 March 2011, The government responded angrily.
The army opened fire on protesters, killing 4 people and the very following day, they shot the sympathizers who came for the victims funeral and there another person was killed. People were shocked and angry at what happened and the word spread to unrest part of the country. At first, the protesters just wanted democracy and greater freedom. But after government's forces opened fire on peaceful demonstrations, people demanded  President Bashar al-Assad's resign. However, he refused to do this which made the protesters extremely angry.

President Bashar al-Assad still had a lot of people in Syria that supported him and his government, so they began to fight against people who were against the government, on one hand.

On the other, the group who want the president to step down - called the opposition - is made up of several kinds of people. These include groups of rebel fighters, political parties who disagree with Assad, and those living in exile who cannot return to the country.

In July 2012, the International Red Cross said the violence in Syria had become so widespread that it was in a state of civil war.
In 2011, the group calling Islamic State (IS) joined the rebellion against President Bashar al-Assad in Syria, where it found easy access to weapons.

THIS MADE CIVIL WAR MORE OUTRAGEOUS !!

This is how Syria divided and started the civil war

After that many world  Political issues happened which made Syrian civil war more devastating.

This is just starting of the war in Syria, don't come to a conclusion that this is what made Syria like today. Later on, some countries supported the rebellion just for their own trade benefits (I thought of giving the country's name but I don't want to complicate the answer by blaming other countries ), many international issues happened which will divert our discussing topic. Just to be precise I'm framing answer like this.

Now coming to the point "Why isn't India taking in Syrian refugees?"

Why don't they come to India ??

The thing we should know is, during the civil war in Syria It has been declared as a War Zone, No-Fly Zone and what not? Airline services have been barred for almost 4 years now.

First, it is Practically difficult. To reach India, they need to cross the lake filled with crocodiles ( Iraq under ISIS ) then go through the extreme weather conditions and political demons of IRAN, Afghanistan, Pakistan and then to India. Let’s not look into refugee policies of Pakistan.

Second, it is an Economical burden. Even the Syrians belonging to the financially stable groups of society could barely afford to move to Turkey. ( Which is a neighboring country). Leaving your whole world behind and moving to a country 4,300 km away isn’t easy(both emotionally and economically).

If Syrian refugees would come, India won't deny them because India is one country who was always been home for many refugees. In the past 20 years, over 1,50,000 refugees have been fled over from Tibet and no wonder if you find too many Tibetans in Delhi University and other colleges studying peacefully.

Edit 1: As someone asked me
“Is there any way for the Syrians to come out of this hell?”
Sol: There is a way that all the countries must sign “Refugee treaty” but it is not safe to do that. We can't trust them as there were countable terrorist attack incidents by refugees happened in western and other countries. As India refused to sign refugee treaty in 2015, International media shouted negatively about this issue, but we have our own problems like
1. Being Biggest refugee populations in South Asia, we have separate laws for them which can be misused easily (I mean security threat)
2. It can upset the demographic balance in South Asia.
and many other agreeable reasons.

Example: Before 1980, three refugees had successfully carried out terrorist attacks; all three were Cuban refugees, and a total of three people were killed in the US. Though people and times may have changed, world politics always think that Prevention is better than Cure!

This is how the wold politics will play with people.
